Camp Fire USA’s Teens in
Action
program helps teens, 12-21, make good decisions and develop positive
peer relationships by involving them in high-adventure group activities.

In 2004, the program provided over 200 14-15 year olds with jobs
throughout our community. Overall, the program touches the lives of over
1,000 youth each year.

Members of
this program have participated in many community service projects,
including:

1. The

Road Rules Service
Trip
included:

Cleaned up national
parks

Assisted on a farm

Collected and donated
goods to a Battered Womens Shelter

Cleaned up a Galveston
Beach

Cleaned up Camp

Ellowi

2. The “Haunted House”

3. Volunteering at
Plaza Senior Citizen Center

Valentine Cards to Bryan’s House a place for kids and family
members affected with HIV.

homeless.

9. Hosting a Car Wash to

10. Serving the homeless
at a local shelter.

Several of the youth
work in Camp Fire USA’s KIDTALK
program.

KIDTALK is a free “warmline” for kids to call when they are
home alone and need someone to help them with their homework, to talk to
them when they are scared or bored, or even when they  just
need a
friend
to tell them a good joke!

Staffed by teenagers from local schools
who have undergone Camp Fire USA’s own personnel training program, the KIDTALK program has responded to over 150,000 calls since it
was first opened in 1987.
