at Camp Ellowi
An Adventure of a
Lifetime
Camp
Fire USA builds caring, confident youth and future leaders. Every
summer, hundreds of local kids experience the joys of an outdoor education
through the Lone Star Council’s action-packed summer day camp at Camp
Ellowi.
New
friends. Exciting activities. An outdoor education in Dallas’
own backyard. These are just a few of the things that await your child at
Camp Fire USA’s Camp Ellowi!
Day camp
is open to boys and girls of all ages, with different activities for each
age group. Campers (ages 6-12) can participate in fun summer games and
sports, as well as such camp activities as hiking, swimming, canoeing,
archery (for 8 and older), arts and crafts, outdoor cooking and more.
There’s
plenty to do for older youth, too! Teens ages 13-15 can strengthen their
leadership skills by joining the camp as a Junior Aide Counselor (JAC).
They will assist in guiding younger youth in day camp activities. Teens
ages 16-17 are encouraged to apply for volunteer positions. They will
assist day camp staff in daily activities and provide leadership and
supervision skills.
