Alumni Booster Club

The Lone
Star Councils Alumni/Booster Club
was established in January 2000
to support and participate in the goals of
Camp Fire USA Lone Star
Council,
while reinforcing
past friendships and associations.

Remember the fun times you had when you were in Camp Fire? Why not
create some new memories by joining the Camp Fire Booster Club? All
youth members,
leaders, co-leaders, volunteers and board
members are encouraged to join. If
you are interested in being a Camp Fire Booster Club member,
please call Sondi Pace at 972-562-8486 or Jeremy Gregg at the Camp
Fire Office at 214-824-1122. Or
email us here!

National
Convention and Alumni Luncheon

Held in Ft. Worth at the beginning of
November, this years National Convention was well attended by
representatives of the Lone Star Council.

Several members of the Alumni/Booster Club
attended the Inaugural National Alumni Luncheon at the Radisson Plaza,
where they met fellow alumni from all over the country. National staff
and board members treated the attendees to a nostalgic trip down Memory
Lane with displays of Camp Fire memorabilia, including the original
memory books of Camp Fire founders Luther and Charlotte Gulick! Songs,
stories and good laughs were enjoyed by all.

The luncheon was closed with a ceremonial
celebration of “Homes of America — North, East, South and
West.” Attendees were then invited to an Alumni Workshop, which
taught them about the new national website (www.campfireusa.org)
and ways for Alumni to recruit, involve and retain their fellow Alumni
and Booster Club members.

Towards the end of the day, a suggestion
was made to have an event that combined both the Ft. Worth and the
Dallas alums some time next year — what a great idea, we think! Please
let us know what you think by e-mailing Jeremy Gregg (staff) at [email protected]

Give
Service!

All
Lone Star Council Board and A/BC members are encouraged to “Adopt a
Kids Club.” This is especially important as the holidays approach .
. . for the New Year means that Camp Fire USA is going to have another Candy
Sale

This
year, the theme is “Candy Planet,” and all of the “Candynauts”
are going to need your help! The dates will be January 18 through
February 17. If youre interested, please contact Anne Johnson at the
council office, 214 824 1122 ext. 248 or [email protected].

PIN
PRIDE!

A/BC
members have already received their alumni pin; its a great way to
show your support of Camp Fire, and a great way to make new friends!
If you havent renewed yet, please send it in today!

BIG
NEWS!

Its official
— Sondi Pace has been appointed to the National Board of Directors! Were
sad to see her go, but were happy that our national board gains such
a wonderful leader. Its no wonder, with a mother like Sondi, that
Karen Fetner, Lone Star Council Alum, has been named “Elementary
Physical Educator of the Year for the State of Texas”!
Congratulations to you both!
