 DALLAS
� On May 6th, Camp Fire USA Lone Star Council
hosted the �Send a Camp Fire Kid to Camp� Breakfast,
featuring the sixth annual �On Behalf of Youth� Awards, at
the Park City Club with Macie Jepson from WFAA-TV
(Channel 8) as the master of ceremonies.

The $18,000
raised at the event allow the Lone Star Council to provide
children in low-income neighborhoods with enriching and fun
activities during the summer months, such as daily
small-group programs held at apartment sites and schools and
camping programs. Specifically, each child enrolled in Camp
Fire USA from a low-income familiy will receive a free
week-long day camp experience at Camp Fire�s
Camp Ellowi in Cedar Hill.

Each year
at the event, Camp Fire USA honors local corporations,
community leaders and volunteers who have dedicated a
significant amount of their time and energy to improving the
welfare of local children and youth. This year�s �On Behalf
of Youth� Awards were presented to:

        


Community Leader: Susan Stahl, Director of Donor
Relations for Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, who
serves on numerous Boards of Directors and Advisory Boards
for the betterment of children and the community and was a
founding member of Youth and Family Centers (The Lemmon
Avenue Bridge), Women in Leadership Conference for Women�s
Center of Dallas, Shakespeare Festival of Dallas Guild and
CPS Community Partners
.

        


Corporate Leader (award accepted by John Hunter): Citi
Cards,

which is
committed to improving the communities in which it operates
through a combination of philanthropy and employee
volunteerism throughout North Texas.

        

Camp
Fire USA Volunteer: Grace Anne Crank,
co-chair of the Lone Star Council�s advisory board steering
committee and immediate past president of the Lone Star
Council�s board of directors. She has been a long-time
supporter of both Camp Fire

USA and her
community.

        

Youth
Development Professional: Mike Griffiths,

Director of Juvenile Services for Dallas County Juvenile
Department
, who has dedicated over 25 years to the
service of youth throughout the state of Texas.
