Friends!
Every
day in Dallas, over 100,000 children come home from school to an empty
house. According to national organizations such as the Afterschool
Alliance and the Children�s Aid Society, this is why crime triples
immediately after school lets out. Unable to afford after-school care,
these children face the most dangerous hours of the day alone.
However,
thanks to Camp Fire USA Lone Star Council, thousands of youth no longer
have to fear the after-school hours.
Now
providing after-school programs to more children than ever before, Camp
Fire USA looks to continue expanding its programs throughout the
Metroplex despite decreased funding. However, in order to continue
offering these programs at little or no charge, Camp Fire USA relies on
the support of local businesses, foundations and generous individuals.
This year, the public can once again support Camp Fire USA through the
annual Candy Sale.
Businesses
or persons interested in purchasing candy, donating a space for Camp
Fire USA members to set up a sales booth or volunteering to help with
