Camp Fire USA's Teens in Action program helps teens, 12-21, make good decisions and develop positive peer relationships by involving them in high-adventure group activities.

In 2004, the program provided over 200 14-15 year olds with jobs throughout our community. Overall, the program touches the lives of over 1,000 youth each year.

Members of this program have participated in many community service projects, including:

1. The Road Rules Service Trip included:

  • Cleaned up national parks

  • Assisted on a farm

  • Collected and donated goods to a Battered Women’s Shelter

  • Cleaned up a Galveston Beach

  • Cleaned up Camp Ellowi

2. The "Haunted House" helped raise funds for the local United Way.

3. Volunteering at Plaza Senior Citizen Center.

4. Delivering hand-made Valentine Cards to Bryan's House – a place for kids and family members affected with HIV.

5. Park clean-up projects as part of Earth Day.

6. Volunteering in the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen.

7. Delivering hand-made Holiday Cards to local nursing homes.

8. Conducting a food drive as part of Camp Fire USA's national initiative to serve the homeless.

9. Hosting a Car Wash to raise money for Leukemia patients.

10. Serving the homeless at a local shelter.
