Camp Fire’s Employment Program is a free Workforce Development Employment Services Program that is funded by the United Way.  Our target population represents disadvantaged at-risk young adults that are out of school and are ages 18-21 residing in Dallas County.  Our goal is to work in collaboration with employers and community based agencies that focus on Workforce Development to assist in equipping our clients with marketable skills to become gainfully employed and to build a strong career in this competitive job market, thus separating them from the cycle of poverty and moving them to self sufficiency.

Camp Fire provides the following services that includes but is not limited to:

  1. Intense Job Readiness Training

Ø  Clients desiring Job Readiness Training participates in an engaging individual and or group training session that include the following:

  • Critical Job Seeking and Job Keeping Skills

  • Making Career decisions

  • Filling out job applications

  • Interviewing

  • Developing a sellable resume

  • Interpersonal / communication skills

  1. Employment

Ø  Clients desiring Employment are assisted with job search / placement in identifying and matching clients up with potential employers.

  1. Vocational Training

Ø  Clients desiring Vocational Training receives career guidance and are assisted with identifying and enrolling in the proper vocational training institution.

  1. GED Assistance (classes / testing)

Ø  Clients desiring to get their GED are assisted in obtaining all applicable documents needed for records prior to enrollment.

Ø  Clients are referred to appropriate resource such as Richland College for enrollment.

  1. Support  Services

Ø   Clients desiring assistance with support services such as child care, transportation, housing, food and legal residency are referred and assisted through appropriate resources that include Richland College, Arbor Education, Dallas county housing, North Texas Food Bank, Immigration and other agencies that can help them receive the support services they need.

Ø  Client will receive one on one case management.

Ø  Client will receive one year of follow-up services.
